“UNLAWFUL ARREST AND TORTURING OF PERANUS BALINGGA, CIVILIAN IN YAHUKIMO”
On June 28, 2025, there was an arrest of Peranus Balingga, a civilian in Yahukimo.
Peranus was captured on 16:00PM in a hut where him and his family were staying. he was captured in front of many other civilians there and was brought to Dekai Yahukimo Police Department which was about 2 kilometers away.
The combined forces of TNI and Indonesian Police were about 50 people. they came using 4 police order vehicles, and a truck.
In there, he (Peranus) suffered torture and persecution by Dekai Yahukimo Police Department. He was then returned home on the 29 June 2025 at around 17:34 PM WIT.

Home Village : Uam, Sumo District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province.
The arrest happened suddenly without any arrest warrant or clarification from the Dekai Yahukimo Police Department.

Are there KKB/Armed Criminal Groups (Indonesian label for TPNPB-OPM) here? If there is any, tell us. (Loudly shouting & intimidating Peranus while pointing their weapons to him)
The locations where the TPNPB are occupying
Besides that, the TNI forces the victim to admit the existence of TPNPB, KNPB (National Committee of West Papua), and other opposing civil movements.
TNI also went in by force into his house, created anarchy, and behave inhumanely. They also broke many house properties and Peranus’ family’s belongings.
After the victim was interrogated, he was freed because according to Dekai Yahukimo Police’s justification, he was truly just a civilian.
